Calliope at Creating Motherhood posted a theme for this week’s “Photo Friday”. I don’t consider myself a photographer and my camera is a very basic one, but I have been thinking how it is important not to restrict my life to my course. So here goes this week’s theme: Vibrance.
Last year I went abroad for the first time – a superb opportunity.
In New York City I attended NYC Pride 2010, probably the most vibrant event I have ever attended:
The diversity and spirit at this event was astounding and quite apt in light of recent events in New York State.
This was my favourite float at the parade.

On the same trip I visited the wonderful people at Youth Journalism International, who took me on some lovely excursions around Connecticut.
One of the places we visited was the Hill-Stead Museum. I loved it for the beautiful green scenery and the New England wall, like in the poem by Robert Frost.
Before the States, I was in Montreal, Canada for iRYLA. The photo above is of the favourite item on the program, Cultural Marketplace. Here all of us brought momentos and pictures of our countries. It was beautiful, loud, enriching. In this photo, from left: Japan, Japan/Indonesia, Belgium, South Africa x2. There were about 150 young people from more than 30 different countries.
Like I said, not excellent photography, but I think it suites the theme.
MAC Awake 
There are a lot of nice photos there! It has very little to do with the camera, and much more to do with the photographer’s eye and the subject. I’m happy to see that you’ve made it to my country! I hope you enjoyed Montreal.
