Hey! I lovveeee to read too, BUT can’t seem to find the time..how do you manage to find time as a med student to read books besides Physio, Patho., and Internal Med.?? I’m currently studying for my USMLE:(
Hey hey. It’s a fine balance, and one I often overstep on the bookish side. Honestly there isn’t a good answer. I expect to be reading less this year, being my final year. Sometimes you have to know when to put the book down. But I find that it is possible to make a little time for reading, mostly… Good luck!

Sorry you didn’t like Reluctant Intern. Have had much better ratings from the physicians who have read it, and most everyone else, too. What did you not like about it, other than my teasing of psychiatrists and the obvious male chauvinism I was trying to point out? It was much worse in the 70s than now, as was the racism, and the physicians’ good-old-boy network. Hope those are less intense in SA.
I’m still working on my review, and trying to figure out my own feelings too. The rating might change as well (most of my ratings do). It was very REAL, though, which gave me a lot of feelings. I think the racism is less intense in SA now, but the male chauvenism is still pretty prevalent. Will send you my review when I have it more polished. Oh, and I really did appreciate the opportunity to read your book!
Such a random question – but the Goodreads widget on your left pane, does it actually work? I tried putting a widget on my own page, but apparently there’s an issue with WordPress/JavaScript/Goodreads, just curious [:
It works! But it doesn’t update automatically so I have to update it every once in a while. I see I still have last year’s widget up – so I’ll update it now, then you’ll see 🙂
(The other GR widgets don’t work on WordPress apparently, but this one seems to).

I’d love to review Night Clinic but at the moment I have such a backlog of books that need reviewing and I’m not sure what my timeline will be like. (P.S: I’ll be doing four months of gen surg at the end of this year, gulp!) So perhaps I can mail you once my backlog is a little less backlogged?
