I just had such an incredible weekend with a few of my fellow interns. At the beginning of the year, a second year intern told us, “If you have the weekend off, please don’t stay in town. Go do something!” So we did.

We went to a little seaside village on the Wild Coast called Morgan Bay and rented a big house for the weekend. It is a gorgeous place and of course the company was fantastic. Did we talk about work? Of course, but not in any way you might expect. It was a massive debriefing session. But we soon moved on to jokes, talking about local and global issues, and sharing other random stories.
We braaid every night and made breakfast together. In the mornings there were gorgeous sunsets to see and trails to run! On Saturday a few of us went running and it was HARD. We call it the rolling hills of the Eastern Cape, but they certainly aren’t gentle on your legs!

We went hiking, climbed the very steep cliffs, ate cake at the local hotel, and got caught in the rain.
This is one of the benefits to the working life, you know? Packing our bags and driving away for the weekend, and actually being able to afford it. And if you’re ever in the area, definitely consider Morgan Bay – it is a lovely little place for a breakaway!
Glad you had a little vacation! 🙂
Thanks girl!

So happy to hear you have had a wonderful little respite with friends who can move from much needed debriefing to laughter and release!!!!!! Good for you Mariechen!!!
